Compliance with the technicalities of federal and state wage and hour laws remains a constant challenge. Whether you are responsible for wage and hour compliance in your company or are an attorney advising employees or employers, this presentation will increase your practical understanding of day-to-day wage and hour issues. Enhancing your knowledge will allow you to leverage the law to advance the interest of your company or your clients.
During this 60-minute recorded webinar, an attorney and arbitrator with more than two decades of wage and hour experience, including advising companies on wage and hour best practices, representing companies in federal and state government wage and hour investigations, defending companies in wage and hour litigation and serving as an arbitrator in wage and hour disputes, explores current issues that frequently are the focus of government investigation and litigation. Topics covered include:
• Misclassifying employees as exempt employees
• Inadvertently turning an exempt employee into a non-exempt employee
• Failing to pay overtime on incentive pay
• Failing to accurately track the hours of non-exempt employees
• Properly paying travel time for non-exempt employees
• The pitfall of ignoring state wage and hour laws
This program does not qualify for the annual Arbitrator Continuing Education (ACE) requirement.
