90 Minutes

Special disputes—certainly those with a high level of technical complexity as to claims, issues, or defenses--require special mediations…and special mediators. Many construction disputes fall into this category and may appear too complex and involve too many people to successfully mediate. Frequently, however, the key to successful mediation of a large, complex, multi-party construction case is effective and expert preparation.

During this 90-minute recorded webinar, expert faculty share how you can effectively prepare for complex, multi-party mediations, including—

  • how to specifically identify the players and get them into a mediation session;
  • effective use of pre-mediation conferences and pre-mediation involvement of team members;
  • who needs to be at the table and what roles they play;
  • the dynamics of internal negotiations and vertical negotiation;
  • how to make written statements more useful;
  • post-session closeout of negotiations.

Mediation can be an effective tool for efficient, fair dispute resolution that can lead to a mutually satisfactory result and preserves business relationships. Large, complex, multi-party disputes bring an entirely different dimension to the process and require enhanced expertise and preparation. You will find this presentation invaluable.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS PRESENTATION – Mediators, in-house and outside attorneys, construction project owners, architects/engineers, contractors, academics, and anyone interested in the dynamics of resolution of complex disputes.
