Carl A. Calvert

Ranchos de Taos, NM

Mr. Calvert is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyer (1999) and a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators (2010). He has served as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Associate Panel since 1986. He is on the Large Complex Disputes Panel and has served on the AAA Training Faculty. During that time he has served in more than 50 cases with disputes as large as $200 million, hearings lasting as long as 56 days, many multi-party disputes including one which resulted in 461 distinct awards.

He has a Ph.D. (1973 Philosophy) from the University of Washington and a JD (1977 Summa Cum Laude) from the University of New Mexico. For thirty seven years his practice has been representing clients and conducting arbitrations in all aspects of the construction industry. He is a frequent speaker and author.

He currently lives in Ranchos de Taos, NM and limits his practice to construction arbitrations.
