Before becoming a full-time neutral in 1990, Cathereine Harris litigated extensively on behalf of both public and private clients in state and federal courts (jury and court trials), administrative forums, and arbitration. Twenty years of litigation experience in all aspects of labor and employment law representing union clients, the federal government, the state of California, private employers and individuals. Extensive trial experience handling complex litigation with multiple parties, experts, and claims including substantial class action experience. She left advocacy practice in 1990 to establish exclusively neutral practice.
Ms. Harris has co-authored quarterly column on the subject of employment arbitration in the Chronicle published by the National Academy of Arbitrators. She has lectured on ADR topics at Costa Rican and Mexican law schools. Frequent presenter at AAA Labor Arbitration trainings and meetings of the National Academy of Arbitrators.
