Deborah Ballati is a partner in the Construction and Insurance Coverage Practice Group of Farella Braun + Martel LLP.  She has represented owners, contractors and design professionals regarding a wide variety of major construction projects in her more than 35 years as a construction lawyer, and has mediated and arbitrated substantial cases involving construction issues both as an advocate for her clients, and as a mediator or arbitrator.  She is a graduate of Stanford University (B.A. 1972) and UC Hastings College of Law (J.D. 1972), a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, (“ACCL”), and served as the Chair of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry (2002-2003) and President of the ACCL (2011-2012).  Ms. Ballati has taught classes on construction law in the Graduate School of Engineering at Stanford, and in the School of Architecture and Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley.  She has written and spoken frequently throughout her career on numerous construction topics, including alternative dispute resolution.
