John Allen Chalk, Sr., has been an arbitrator since 1992 and has been appointed arbitrator in more than five hundred administered and non-administered arbitrations. He is both a domestic and international commercial arbitrator.
Mr. Chalk has been a member of American Arbitration Association neutrals panels since 1992 and is also on neutrals panels for a number of other arbitral institutions. He serves as a sole neutral arbitrator and often chairs arbitrator panels in a wide range of subject matter disputes. He has taught “Law:1632 - Arbitration Practice and Advocacy” at Pepperdine University School of Law as an adjunct professor.
Mr. Chalk is a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and editor of The Arbitration Newsletter, an e-mail newsletter. He is a former Chair of the ADR Section of the State Bar of Texas, the immediate Past President and Master Emeritus of the Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court, American Inns of Court, Fort Worth, Texas, a former President of the Tarrant County (Texas) Bar Association, and has been repeatedly recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer, a Top Attorney, and a Power Attorney by various publications. He was recognized by Texas Lawyer in 2013 as one of five “Go-To ADR Professionals in Texas.”
He is a member of Whitaker Chalk Swindle & Schwartz, PLLC, Fort Worth, Texas, and also serves on the law firm’s executive management committee.
