Mark Friedlander is a partner in the Construction Law Group of Schiff Hardin LLP.  He is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 1978) and Harvard Law School (J.D. 1981), is a fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, and served as the Chairman of the Professional Practice and Contracts Committee of the Design-Build Institute of America.  Mr. Friedlander has been an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago Graduate School of Architecture since 1985 and has lectured at the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering, the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Engineering School at Northwestern University and the Architecture School of Georgia Tech.  He has written dozens of papers and articles for numerous publications ranging from textbooks to law reviews and from bar journals to construction trade journals and is a frequent speaker to both bar organizations and construction industry groups.  His website at schiffhardin.com/design-build/ is a nationally acclaimed source of free downloads on issues of construction law for both lawyers and non-lawyers.
