Advises attorneys on both sides of the fence. Sometimes serves as an expert on class settlements. Understands the perspectives of employers, employees, labor unions, and persons accused of harassment, and at various times has represented all of them.
Represents executives negotiating hiring and severance agreements, plaintiffs in discrimination and wage and hour cases, class actions, and collective actions, and occasional unjustly accused employers. Currently, or has served as lead counsel in cases under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1064, the Equal Pay Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act ("ADEA"), 42 U.S.C. secs. 1981 and 1983, the Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA"), New York Labor Law ("NYLL"), the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law. Has been counsel in cases involving the Washington Minimum Wage Act and the Washington Consumer Protection Act.
